Mobidat

The aim of the Foundation of Aid for Mathematicians and Computer Scientists with Motor Disabilities and the Foundation for Specialist Transport Services for Disabled People ( TUS Foundation) is to create a data base, parallel to MOBIDAT Data Base, composed of the list of places of public utility in Warsaw. This goal will be achieved with the cooperation with German Foundation „ Albatros”, founded by „The man action” . The project has been set up on 1 September 2007r. and is to be continued until October 2008r.

The system of norms and standards of adjusting the places for disabled people's needs ( driveway angles, door's wideness, toilets for disabled people, interpreter of sign language assistance, lifts etc.) will be the basis for creation the Data Base.

The reliability of the figures in data base will guarantee means necessary for the examination of those places – the evaluation of the standards and measuring will be proceed with surveys made by the volunteers. All the information gathered in the data base will be updated regularly by the monitoring system ( the information concerning any changes in the buildings' accessibility for disabled people) conducted in cooperation with administration staff of the buildings.

This project is concerned to be a model one for the borough of Śródmieście in Warsaw.

We assume that the project ( especially the tasks which concern the translation of the Data Base into foreign languages, as the Base in Berlin is translated into 7 languages) will be conducted under the Human Capital Operational Programme.

We hope that the Data Base, the final effect of our project, will raise the quality of life and mobilness of disabled people. The easy access to the information concerning the accessibility /or not of the public buildings for disabled people will help them to plan their activity.
